LD Riders Board... “These things are just as good as Mario's Shorts. When doing commando touring I may stop every other day and these garments stand up well to that type of abuse (without grossing out everybody in the subway on day 2).
They stay up - now I have what you might call Chunky legs - as a matter of fact I have extreme difficulty finding boots to go over my calves but these sox - once on, are there for good without restriction. They form fit to your foot and leg. This makes them particularly comfy when you have to go hiking for that 50 million point bonus.
They also dry out quickly as Joe said. On the first day of the IBR I stopped at Hoagies. It had been raining for about 500 miles or so and I had not put on my raingear. When I pulled off my boot it was full to the top with water. I squeezed the water out of the techsox right on my legs, stuck a towel in the boots for a few minutes and was good to go.
At Gaspe peninsula we had to walk across about 6 inches of water. I removed my boots and put on my hiking sandals with the techsox. While I waded through about 6 inches of water the sox were dry by the time I got back to my bike to put my boots back on. These were a critical piece of equipment on leg one where everything was so wet.
I took two rides this past year commando touring - each in excess of 11 days and never had any problem with swelling in my lower legs that many experience when on the bike for many hours day after day. They are a permanent part of my equipment.”

“WOW, what a product! I used the socks for short rides (< 150 miles) and I found them to be pretty good. Little did I imagine how good they would prove to be… I planned a ride with two other friends called the Great Lakes 100. This ride requires you to completely circle all five Great Lakes (Michigan, Superior, Ontario, Huron and Erie - total 2,750 miles) in under 100 hours (4 days and 4 hours). We began the ride on August 28, 2003 and completed the ride on August 31, 2003, averaging 850 miles per day and finishing in 86 hours. We encountered a 90 degree day, some 50 degree days with both light and heavy rain, and 40 degree nights. On the 90 degree day, my feet stayed dry and cool. On the 50 degree days with light rain, my riding companions needed to stop to add an extra layer of socks to keep their feet warm. I was, on the other hand, ready to keep going. On those 40 degree nights, I was still the comfortable rider. During the heavy rain, my feet stayed warm and dry. I'm absolutely certain it was not my boots that made the difference; they are the same ones that I've worn with cotton socks under these conditions and I've been miserable.
Cleanup was easy; a quick hand wash, hung them to dry, and they were ready for another day...

I was introduced to your socks at the New York City Motorcycle Show this past year. My friend and I live in up state NY, and we ride our motorcycles through the cooler months where the temperatures can get quite cold. We have warm clothing to wear for our body but keeping our feet warm was always a problem for us. So when we passed by your booth at the show and listened to your claims we where more than interested. I have to say that we were quite skeptical when you said that your socks were all we needed to keep our feet warm when we were riding in temperatures that could be below zero. I really wanted to believe that your product was the answer, because we knew from experience that everything we had tried in the past did not work to our liking. I figured that the earliest I would get a chance to put your socks to a test would be this spring. However, I had an opportunity to give them the ultimate test these past two weeks.
Through the 1970's and 80's, I was a member of the U.S.A. Olympic and Worlds Bobsled Team. Since that time I have been a track official at events held at our bobsled track in Lake Placid. This month the World 2 & 4 Man Bobsled Championships were held at our track and I was there to officiate. When I was deciding what to wear on my feet while I was on the mountain, I thought I would give your socks a real test. As it turned out, that week was one of the coldest recorded in many years. The average temperature was 27 below zero and there were days that were below -35°. Not only did I have to endure this cold air, but I was standing on ice all day at the start on top of the bobsled run. I was wearing rubber boots with liners and just your socks, and to my amazement my feet never felt cold or uncomfortable where I though I needed to put other layers of socks on. To put it as simply as I can YOUR SOCKS WORK. No one will every ride their motorcycles in the weather as cold as it was these last two weeks on top of Mount Vanhovenburg, and if my feet could survive those conditions with your techSOX on they will surely handle the needs of all of the riders that use them in the cooler weather of the spring and fall. “On Tuesday, July 5th, I purchased a pair of your TechSox to use when riding our Gold Wing. While dressing for the long ride home I put on the sox and instantly I could tell how comfortable they would be for the long ride. And they are so comfortable, I couldn't believe it.
We departed Nashville at 8 am on Thursday the 6th of July heading for home - 1300 miles later (approximately 7 miles from home) a Chevy Suburban pulled out in front of us and stopped across both lanes of traffic. My husband did his best to keep us upright, but was unable to avoid putting the bike down in a ditch - luckily he was able to miss the driver side rear end of the suburban.
I've attached a couple of photos of the accident and of the "damage" I sustained. I was told by the doctor in the emergency room where I got stitches that having the pair of "heavy duty" soxs as she called them, probably saved my calf and ankle from further damage. I felt they protected my right foot and ankle from the 20-30ft skid (it happened so fast!). I realize the boots did the most protection, but I felt the sox helped to keep my boot on.
We are hoping that the other vehicle's insurance will pay for me a new pair of TechSoxs (they will be from your company) as these were destroyed when the EMTs cut into my jeans at the accident to get to my wound.
