DETAILING
TIPS:
-
Be sure to wear safety glasses
when using an air compressor to clean. It only takes a small piece of grit
in the eye to ruin your weekend riding plans.
-
Scratches. To prevent scratches
during the cleaning process, avoid using the same washcloth or sponge on
sensitive paint areas versus tire and fender areas.
-
Rinse soap off right away. Most
soap products leave a film. Say no to scum!
-
Be generous with the hose. Let
the water flow.
-
Don’t forget to wash under the
fenders. This is a commonly missed area.
-
Avoid detailing your bike in
direct sunlight because it can adversely affect your wax job. Use
Captain Richards Best for quick detailing. Wipe on and off!
-
Don’t park under a tree. Sap
isn’t fun to remove. Find a UV blocking agent to use on leather, plastic and
vinyl areas. This will prevent cracking and will extend the life of these
areas.
-
Use a cover to protect your bike
from the elements. As they say, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure”
With outstanding cleaning
products available to help you out, detailing doesn’t have to be a chore. Detailing Products
